The KDE team is a bunch of weenies. :P

Seriously, I think they hold package releases (even point releases) in 
package.mask and ~ARCH too long.  HOWEVER, they are provide (IIRC) both 
split and monolithic ebuilds, which is quite a bit of work to get 
completely right.
