Hi there,
Please take a look at
http://search.ebay.co.uk/usb-firewire-pci-card_W0QQfcoZ1QQfromZR8QQfsooZ1QQfsopZ1
for an example of the kind of cards I am thinking about buying.
There are choices where one PCI card has two via processors which
control 4 USB 2.0 and 2 Firewire ports. Since my existing Motherboard
Asus A7n266-vm does not support USB 2.0 on resident ports, I am keen to
have this add on.

However, I am not sure whether PCI->USB2.0 and PCI->Firewire hardware
like this would be supported in Linux. Of course, the advertisers
consider it sufficient to say "Fully supported for windows xp". There is
OHCI compliance advertised on these, but I am not sure whether that
helps once the card is talking to my motherboard over a PCI interface.

Has any of you successfully used it? Tips welcome.
Thank you,

Rohit
