Ok, after skimming through Gentoo docs, and reading people's comments on this thread, I've once again tracked down the culprit.
All I did, so that CUPS would show me all the available drivers in the web interface, is add the following flags to my make.conf: cups ppds cups - Add support for CUPS (Common Unix Printing System) ppds - Adds support for automatically generated ppd (printing driver) files Re-emerged cups and gimp-print, and now everything works great!
