You can either use Plugger or mozplugger to do it. These plugins will provide lots of additional functionalities including audio, video, MIDI files playback and viewing of TIFF, PNG, BMP, Photoshop and other formats.
I am personally using mozplugger and use imagemagick as a viewer for TIFF images. Regards, Abhay
