If only I know where I went wrong ;-)
I upgraded to KDE 3.5 beta 1 at one time, later (after a emerge -u world/system or three) I upgraded to KDE 3.5 proper.
After this I noticed that "nothing" "worked".
No sound, no USB, no DVD player (the one thing that *did* work on Kubuntu was sound).
Various apps falling all over themselves (Kuroo, K3b, other stuff).
Various stuff not compiling...

Must have f......p somewhere really bad :-(
