I guess I misinterpreted what you wrote. Looking at the source URI for the 24.8 ebuild, it appears to be the upstream pre-built binary .deb package, while the 24.4 source URI points to one of the Gentoo dev's personal sites. Not only did they start thinking about it, they did it. :) Hopefully, it's less work for them this way. -- Grant
