I considered doubling up to 128GB a few months ago, but the technical help people at Armari (the workstation builder) told me that I'd need to jump through a few hoops. Not only would the chips need to have been selected for that purpose, but I'd have to do a fair amount of BIOS tuning while running performance tests.
