Does this help any? https://docs.kde.org/stable5/en/kate/katepart/kate-part-autoindent.html I think "none" is what you are looking for. It mentions another place to configure in the tip box too. That may give you another place to look. I use Kwrite myself but kinda similar. While trying to find something weird or out of the obvious place, I found some things I never saw before. :-D Dale :-) :-)
