sorry about the duplicate message, it's this stupid webmail interface i'm using in this computer... and i also realized what was missing in my kernel configuration: scsi disk support. i recompiled the kernel and now sda and sda1 are created as soon as i plug the usb disk. sorry about the noise, have a nice week-end. best, lj -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
