How in god's name do I resolve this without bricking my system???
I mean basically no package on my system has an override that says "just
use printf, damnit", they all make ncurses calls.... All of them! If I
breathe on ncurses, portage instantly stops working (even BASH stops
working!!) and I'm screwed...
