I beg your pardon, yes, I meant to say vcl.  I just started LOcalc from within 
Enlightenment, which does not load the KDE env profile and which shows:

Version: 6.2.4.2.0+
Build ID: Gentoo official package
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.19; UI render: default; VCL: x11; 

There's no tab problem with this one.
