Those no name china brand controllers are almost always really shitty if you want a nice but affordable HBA for SAS/SATA get on with an LSI 2008 chipset you got ripped off paying almost $40 for that junk I paid only $30 for my LSI 2008 chipset HBA and it is great it also supports SATA expanders. Look at the servethehome LSI 2008 topic for ebay keywords.
