I vaguely recall running into something like that myself. Some of these dependencies are not at all obvious. In general the make menuconfig (or especially xconfig) search options will quickly find an item even if it is hidden in the menu, and show you which flags aren't set in your context. Granted, that often leads to another search, and possibly finding other items not enabled. It rarely goes deeper than 2-3 levels though. -- Rich
