Thanks Yuriy,

But those settings then apply to all windows?.... not just if I click maximize?

I read up about it in the meantime, most people say not to use Xinerama, but RandR with Twinview instead, but as far as I have tested, Xinerama is required when you have 2 GPUs with 2 screens each. In X the first two monitors are one X screen, and the second 2 the second X screen. I dont think it's possible to turn off Xinerama with such a setup..

Thanks again,

Hi,

One of solutions known to me is the following:

* go to System Settings -> Window Behaviour -> Window Rules tab,
* Create an entry (New...) with all defaults in the `Window matching` tab, * in the `Size&Position` tab set `Size` to the screen size and optionally `Position` (so that your maximized window not span several displays) and choose `Force` from the select box

You can tune those settings to specific windows, using `xprop` tool to know the windows' roles, classes etc.

Hello all,

I have a machine with 4 monitors attached from 2 nvidia GPUs
Using the proprietary nvidia drivers.
Plasma works, and is aware of the 4 screens, but if I maximize a window,
it goes over all 4 screens.
I looked in the Plasma settings under window management, but cannot
disable this behavior.

Where can I change this?

I have attached my xorg.conf

Thank you,
