I *always* copy the relevant /etc/cups/*.conf files to either a .bak or a .date.bak extension. That way when cups inevitibly nukes the old configs you can just manually fix those relevant config files. So just go look on another system and manually copy/edit those missing/modified config files, then restart the cupsd daemon. hth, James
