Most likely. I did a stage 3 installation of 2005.1 a few days ago and ended up getting both X and a whole bunch of other stuff installed. Chances are you have it, too. "etcat -s x11" will tell you for sure. If not, doing "emerge xorg-x11" as root will install it. > how do i start X? Log in, then issue the command "startx" (no, really!). "emerge -s" (--search) will search for a package with a name containing the given string.
