What do you call "bitrot" and what indication for that do you > see? Bugs that remain unfixed for years (literally). Years ago I filed several bug reports at bugzilla.mozilla.org. Most of them were confirmed by bug testers as real bugs, but most were never fixed by the developers. Then I got busy with other software projects (like gentoo) and stopped filing bugs at mozilla. The gentoo bugs I report actually get fixed most of the time and I've learned a lot from the follow-up comments.
