Are you SURE grub is installed? Also, what version of grub are you using, and have you confirmed that it is compatible with GPT? Sticking some files in /boot/grub is only the first step in installing grub. It needs to be present in your boot sector and all the files it needs need to be in the right places, including its stage2 bootloader or whatever they call it these days. -- Rich
