I had the same problem, I had success with this: https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/525699/linux/nvidia-linux-3-7-patch-fix/ I applied the patch and also had to create the link to version.h as suggested towards the end of the page. That was with gentoo-sources-3.7.4-something and nvidia-drivers-304.64 on ~amd64. raf
