I have changed my ide cable but the DMA_INTR are still coming .. ------------ If I remember right, with Knoppix you just type memetest (look at the cheat codes by pressing F2/F3 on bootup). Memtest86+ will only show you dodgy memory, not device bad blocks. For that I think that you need to run badblocks. Did you emerge and set up hdparm?
