You can 'push' MAKEOPTS to "-l 10.8", methinks. Although honestly I
don't think a difference of 0.8 will make any discernible effect :-)

(Yes, 'man make' says that "-l" accepts floating-point numbers. I just checked)

But your settings make perfect sense to me :-)
