Meh. Disabling Grsec& PaX still resulted in the system locking up

I'll try compiling the -r8 kernel.

My system's totally b0rked, it seems...

emerge -av =sys-kernel/hardened-sources-2.6.39-r8

Resulted in:

/usr/lib64/portage/bin/misc-functions.sh: line 978:
/var/tmp/portage/sys-kernel/hardened-sources-2.6.39-r8/.die_hooks: No

OSError: [Errno 28] No space left on device:

But `df -h` shows:

Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
rootfs 3.9G 2.6G 1.1G 72% /

shm 249M 0 249M 0% /dev/shm

I give up. I'm going to blast this system and reinstall from scratch, using -r8

Rgds,

I ran into something weird like this a week or two ago. One of my file systems went belly up. I ended up backing up what I could and starting over. If you have portage on a separate partition then you may want to give it a fresh start. It would be better than starting out fresh.

Just a thought. BTW, I was using reiserfs on the partition.
