It seems I don't have support for this on the router, so I'll have to
go the scripting way... I have taken a look at portage, and ddclient
and ez-ipupdate are available.

Well, I was searching for a free service because if I have to pay
anything for this I would consider paying a cheap hosting instead of
mantaining my own server.

Thanks for the tip... I basically have found (from the suggestions on
this thread, thanks everybody) the following providers with some kind
of free dynamic dns service (in case anyone else is interested):

http://www.dyndns.org/
http://www.dyns.cx/
http://www.zoneedit.com/
http://www.no-ip.com/
