Indeed. With 2.6, the kernel devs would prefer you to use the device node: cdrecord dev=/dev/cdrw .... (with cdrw being a symlink to an actual device, but you can use /dev/cdrom, /dev/hdX, whatever) The cdrecord author still prefers the "dev=x,x,x" syntax.
