Are you saying I should reconfig the kernel? I recall modularizing most of the stuff I wouldn't need until after the OS is up. Can you suggest what to leave out? I seem to recall a method of formatting a floppy 1,7M. But I didn't see it in man fdformat or man mke2fs. Maybe a boot CD. But that seems like a recipe for making coasters.
