Hello, There is a Gentoo Linux ALSA guide at: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/alsa-guide.xml
With regards to your card, the kernel that you are using (Which happens to be the same I use) Has the module for your card under: -> Device Drivers -> Sound -> Advanced Linux Sound Architecture -> PCI devices -> Aureal Vortex So it looks like your card is fully supported by ALSA. Please note, that you can get the modules installed for your card in two ways: 1. By selecting the module fro the kernel configuration (at the location mentioned above) 2. Or by NOT selecting the module in the kernel configuration, but then adding your card name as one of the values of the variable "ALSA_CARDS" in the make.conf file, and then installing the "alsa-driver" package. Anyway, that is explained (somehow) in the guide mentioned above... Since your card seems to be fully supported, you'll probably won't have any problems getting it to work... Hope this helps, - AR On 5/21/05, Colin <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I'm trying to get my soundcard working.
