Thanks for the quick responses.
I loaded the module and moved the kernel over.
I had to then run lsmod to make sure and then modprobe and get it into the autoload.

works great.

now to get Gnome and KDE on the machine :)

Probably you do but if you do

make && make modules_install

and the only change in make menuconfig was that you added a single
module then it should only take a minute to get it done.
