equery which packagename is meant to give you the full path and name of
the ebuild file for the version of packagename that portage would
install.
however on my system it gives the latest unstable version, at least of
mythtv.
viz:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] nick $ eix ^mythtv$
* media-tv/mythtv
Available versions: 0.16 ~0.17-r1 ~0.18
Installed: no
Homepage: http://www.mythtv.org/
Description: Homebrew PVR project

[EMAIL PROTECTED] nick $ etcat -v mythtv

Only printing found installed programs.
* media-tv/mythtv :

[M~ ] 0.18 (0)
Therefore both etcat and eix report that the latest stable is 0.16
However:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] nick $ equery which mythtv
/usr/portage/media-tv/mythtv/mythtv-0.18.ebuild
mythtv does not feature in /etc/portage/* and ~x86 is not set anywhere.
