Right, of course. Would you be more comfortable if I said that I'm
interested in the "mean beat period"? There are a few good algorithms
out there (since this will be running 'offline', it'll be a bit more
accurate), I was just hoping somebody might have implemented one in
Linux.

As you might have guessed, I'm just looking for a tool to help me put
together DJ mixes. Obviously a machine-derived BPM (sorry, "MBP") value
won't be perfect, but it *will* be a good jumping-off point toward using
songs in my library with which I am less familiar.
