Glad I could help. My hope is that eventually when someone posts a problem with configuring X, we will be able to respond with "delete /etc/X11/xorg.conf", because the autoconfiguration in x.org will become that good. It works now for generating a good starting point, but as you found out, we still *need* that config file, and it still requires some edits to get things exactly right.
