Perhaps due to transcode, a dependency of dvdrip. A lot of bugs about transcode build errors are in bugzilla right now. Search for the packagename and version in bugzilla for information how to make it work. dvd::rip is a great piece of software. It even allows you to cluster the encodiong among diffeerent pc's.
