Well, NeoVim, at least, have support for site-dir in /usr/local out of the 
box. I guess, Vim8 will need a bit of patching for that.

Although, I'm, in opposite, dislike (very little, tho) /usr/local, since it 
makes me feel like FreeBSD'er.
