In the face of recent security bugs in x11-base/xorg-server, x11 team
has decided to drop most of the older versions. Going forward, we will
keep 1.12 in the tree for some more time, as a few drivers still depend
on it. 1.15 will also be kept for some time after 1.16 goes stable, as
long as it is easy enough to backport security patches to it. But both
will be masked and dropped as soon as they become too much of a
maintenance burden.
Today's last rites will affect mostly users of Intel's
(Poulsbo/Cedarview) proprietary graphics drivers of which there are
hopefully not too many.
