I've gone to this process this week-end : manually masking
app-emulation/emul-linux-x86-* and ran into some issues.
The most problematic, in my opinion is
https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=503500 However, doing as
suggested in the bug report seems to solve my problem, but it's rather
annoying since you need to compile at least dev-qt/qtcore without
as-needed (though I'm not sure I understand every implication it yields)

I also had to remove games-rpg/nw* (all related to NeverWinterNight, a
non free-game, that came with a native LinuxClient)

Since I wasn't doing it full time this week-end, and to due to some
crazy thoughts, I've not tried to rebuild neither adobe-flash and skype,
which both a) are non-free software b) are 32-bits applications

Cheers
