Look at http://hardened.gentoo.org, the default toolchain used includes PIE, and it also includes various other measures (like additional grSecurity restrictions or even SELinux) that makes Gentoo Hardened systems less vulnerable to this specific vulnerability. Wkr, Sven Vermeulen
