I propose that profiles/ be migrated to EAPI 1 to allow the usage of atoms with SLOTs for package.mask, package.use.mask, etc. As I understand it, this just involves: echo 1 > profiles/eapi Since EAPI-1 supporting portage ebuilds have been stable for ~3 years now.
