It seems Portage sources all profile.bashrc files it finds in the chain to the active profile. That makes them sort of stackable, hence I added this snippet in the prefix top-level profile and it works for all sub-profiles as far as I can see. Thanks. -- Fabian Groffen Gentoo on a different level
