Nice to hear ;) As already noted, splitting the tree at arbitrary boundaries will not work. However, I think I understand the motivation that drives the proposal in the first place. My feeling is: things getting more complex (ebuild wise, deps, more packages), it's just so easy to step on other ppls feet these days ;)
