for a project just getting started, seems like a lot ... but i'm not part of

isnt it an issue only once you have something to actually release ?  some 
people may prefer to lay infrastructure first, but i'd rather let something 
prove itself out so that infrastructure is laid and then not ever utilized 
(not to imply anything about this project's future)

if you're going to be using a tool, then it's only logical that you'd be 
submitting bugs and/or fixing it yourself
