The appropriate place to report issues like this is our bug tracker. It
appears that there are already a number of issues for yodl, so you might
be able to +1 one of those:

Logs should be uploaded as attachments to the bug. As you've identified,
the failure message includes the logs that will have relevant
information to troubleshooting this issue; the build failure message
isn't particularly helpful in most cases.
I haven't been able to reproduce your issue, though I did get something
similar when I tried to execute `ebuild ... test` before I'd installed
dev-build/icmake (via `emerge -v1 yodl` to ensure I had deps).
Good luck getting yodl to build; if you're up for troubleshooting and
improving the package yourself #gentoo (for general user support) and
#gentoo-dev-help (for help with ebuilds) on irc.libera.chat are good
places to start.
