Actually, I rather like to think that Gentoo is one of the very few distributions that cares more about meeting existing Linux [power]users' needs rather than getting any new users to Linux. I mean lets face it, a distro that's largely DIY is hardly a good first Linux, but an excellent second Linux and indeed thats the very reason why I use Gentoo.
