Hi,

The Call for Papers for Community Over Code Glasgow is now open:
https://communityovercode.org/

I would like to encourage more submissions to the Incubator track.

You can also submit talks about your incubating project, your technical work,
or your project’s journey through the Incubator. Sharing real experiences,
challenges, and lessons learned is often just as valuable. Talks do not need to
be about Incubator policy or process. For those interested in process,
governance, mentoring, or Incubator operations, we already have a significant
amount of material that could be turned into conference talks with relatively
little work.

The least effort is that there are a dozen completed existing slide decks with
detailed speaker notes available here:
https://incubator.apache.org/training/slides.html

Some also have short videos that demonstrate how the material can be presented:
https://incubator.apache.org/training/videos.html

We also have written guides that can be easily converted into presentations:
https://incubator.apache.org/training/guides.html

From this material alone, the following topics could readily become conference
talks:
- Joining the Incubator
- Podling Orientation Guide
- Communication in Apache Projects
- International and Cultural Awareness
- Why Governance Matters / Governance in Practice
- Common Incubator Myths
- Vendor Neutrality at the ASF
- Voting and Consensus in Practice
- Third-Party Branding and Incubating Projects
- Legal Basics for Incubating Projects
- Interacting with ASF Infrastructure
- Measuring Podling Health
- Graduation Criteria / Graduation and Beyond
- Common Podling Red Flags
- Best Practices for Mentors
- Mentors’ Tough Conversations
- How to Use the ASF Maturity Model

A couple of these may need some expansion for a full-length session, but most
are already close to presentation-ready.

I have also recently completed additional material based on actual Incubator
data from mailing lists and reports, which would also make strong talks:
- Incubator Case Studies
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/INCUBATOR/Incubator+Case+Studies
- Practicing The Apache Way
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/INCUBATOR/Practicing+The+Apache+Way
- Expanded Incubator Case Studies
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/INCUBATOR/Expanded+Incubator+Case+Studies
- IPMC Reflection and Oversight
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/INCUBATOR/IPMC+Reflection+and+Oversight
- Release Vote Insights
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/INCUBATOR/Release+Vote+Insights
- Mentor Trends / Mentor Engagement Patterns
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/INCUBATOR/Report+Analysis

Also, converting existing written content into slides is much easier than it
used to be. Modern AI tools are very effective at transforming guides into
presentation formats, so much of the heavy lifting is already done.

If you are considering submitting a talk, please feel free to use and adapt any
of the topics above. Much of the work is already done for you, and I'd be happy
to help shape abstracts or review drafts.

Kind regards,
Justin
