Hi, 2c from a silent reader, present since jspwiki entered incubator: as this task is specific to ASF, and the project hasn't entered / engaged with ASF/incubator yet, wouldn't this task better be performed by the member championing the request? This person most probably has already helped with the proposal.
Performing the namesearch would be far easier for the champion than to anyone who at that stage hasn't interacted with the foundation.
