AIUI the purpose of the requirement is to reinforce the fact that podlings are not fully adopted by the ASF. This is not a 'random' requirement; it seems sensible to me, especially when podlings often fail to add the Incubator disclaimer to all their pages. == The solution to the Whimsy warnings is simple. No need to change any processes, just use the correct website URL in the YAML file. I'm unclear as to what else is regarded as a problem, and what else you think needs changing when a podling graduates? Also, is this a decision that is in scope for the Incubator, or is M&P or branding approval needed? Further, Infra may need to make some changes if the policy is changed. > Craig > > > On Mar 12, 2024, at 13:57, sebb <seb...@gmail.com> wrote: > > > > Whimsy gets the URL from content/podlings/<podling>.yml > > > > It looks like all that is needed to fix Whimsy is to ensure the > > correct value is used for :website: > > This is a one-off change; AFAIK it does not need to be changed after > > graduation. > > > > AFAICT, all the podling websites are equally accessible via > > podling.a.o and podling.incubator.a.o > > > > I suggest fixing the podling yml files. > > > > On Tue, 12 Mar 2024 at 20:32, Gordon <ga...@apache.org> wrote: > >> > >> +1 (binding), thanks. > >> > >> On Tue, Mar 12, 2024 at 11:37 AM Craig Russell <apache....@gmail.com> > >> wrote: > >> > >>> After this discussion > >>> https://lists.apache.org/thread/frwsy1g1pkx3ppbvzt538xxh9qo9y319 > >>> I'd like to propose that we make the incubator. part of the URL optional > >>> for podlings. > >>> > >>> This is a way to minimize the work needed to graduate.
