The issue could be reproduced under java 8. For character set, I'm running 
archlinux with
locale en_US.utf-8. The build is running on the source tarball directly. It's 
unlikely to
be related to character set.

openjdk version "1.8.0_402"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_402-b06)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.402-b06, mixed mode)

BTW, the failed file 
"paimon-test-utils/src/main/java/org/apache/paimon/testutils/assertj/._AssertionUtils.java"
 seems to be a binary file.
