The problem is that at this point, the IPMC is absolved of Beam's actions. Our votes are not binding.
Its similar to feedback I gave to Mark B when Geode was graduating and they wanted to add a new committer - just wait a couple of days. Your votes are binding now, so you have no dependency on the IPMC.
