I would like to offer my time and availability as a mentor for HTrace
should it be successful in becoming a podling.

Sounds realistic and is also fully in line with the Known Risks you point
out below.

It is important that this is not only mentioned but emphasized within the
proposal. I respect the realistic and honest approach. I would be keen to
ensure that this is not a code dumping exercise. This would probably be my
main goal as a mentor if I was deemed suitable to be involved at that
level. I am also interested in the software. It may have application in a
number of ongoing projects I am working on.
