Ripple is struggling to build community and recently discussed whether it ought to retire or not. One member of the community has stepped forwards to ensure essential management of the project is in place, but even they have acknowledged that it is entirely possible that the code is no longer needed in six months as some related work in Cordova matures. The project has agreed to review the situation again in six months.
Christian Grobbmeir has been an active mentor on the project and remains so (thanks Christian). He and the remaining community members have accepted my offer to assist with mentoring. I will therefore add myself to the mentor list for Ripple and will work with the community to see if there is any real potential for the project to graduate in the next six months.
