The Board minutes, which include all reports, are formatted as plain text every month. If the reports aren't formatted by the time the Board gets them, then the Board members have to clean them up. Brett and Sam spend a bunch of time every month on this stuff. The following quote is taken from one of the reminder emails which get sent out each month: Cutting and pasting directly from a Wiki is not acceptable due to formatting issues. Line lengths should be limited to 77 characters. (; Does a 77 character allotment instead of 76 make things ok? ;) If we ever get to the point where Incubator reports are submitted via web form, I hope to contribute some code which performs word wrapping and indenting automatically so that the Report Manager doesn't have to worry over this. It'll be tricky though because people use different bullet styles... I dunno, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. > Speaking as one who actually coded on punched cards on an octal based > computer, I feel indignant that you young whippersnappers don't appreciate > the hard won freedoms us older coders have brought to the younger > generations. I think NASA makes Mattmann use one of those for his email.
