Thanks again, John. I would be happy to clarify.

I am both a mentor and a committer on Usergrid. I created the release files
and named them 1.0.0rcX. We called for a vote and another mentor (Jake F)
voted -1 on the release saying that (among other things) we need rename the
files 1.0.0-rcX (note the dash). I renamed the release files and we
proceeded with voting.

When we called for a vote, each time the vote was to "release RCX as
Usergrid 1.0" and we did that four times until finally RC4 was judged as
good enough for release.

Personally, I think the "rcX" naming is a good thing because I do not like
there to be any files named "1.0.0" unless they are the actual 1.0.0
release.

Irregardless of my opinion, if we have to go back to the Podling PMC to
vote we will add another 72 hours to the release process and that seems
like silliness when the project has already voted four times to make the
release. IMHO, now is the time for Incubator PMC voting and I would be
happy to prepare another set of release files (without the dependency files
that David Nally noticed).

Does that make sense?

Thanks,
Dave
